Michael Alexander Wallner, 17, of Westfield, IN died January 11, 2024 at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. He was born January 30, 2006 in Novotroitsk, Orenburg, Russia.
He along with his three siblings were homeschooled by his mother, Linda, then he attended Westfield High School.
Michael enjoyed playing basketball with friends at the neighborhood park and at Grand Park. Michael will be remembered as a soft-spoken, likeable, funny, young man.
He was a part-time employee for A&H Floor Service where he refinished gymnasium floors. Most recently, Michael worked at SaladWorks in Westfield where he was known for his great sense of humor and would surprise his family by bringing home unique salad creations. This was a good fit since Michael loved to cook. He demonstrated business savvy by collecting designer athletic shoes and flipping them for profit. He was leaning toward a future in business or sales.
Michael enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known to share many laughs with those around him.
Michael is survived by his parents, Ed Wallner and Linda (Thiemrodt) Wallner of Westfield; sisters, Jenna and Amanda Wallner; brother, Nicholas Wallner; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10 am in St Maria Goretti Catholic Church, where Michael attended. The Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1 pm in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Michael, be given to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church,17104 Springmill Road, Westfield 46074 or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Road, Carmel, 46032.
A Commital Service will take place at a later date in Carmel Cemetery.
