Michael "Mike" Haley Obituary

Michael Edward Haley, 79 of Carmel and a beloved resident of Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024.  He was born in Tipton, Indiana, on April 4, 1944, to Warren Edward and Velma Mae (Hershberger) Haley.  Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Michael was a proud alumnus of Ball State University and furthered his education with an MBA at Northwestern. His professional journey ultimately led him to Indiana University Health System where he was a distinguished leader who made lasting contributions throughout his career.

Outside the office, Michael found joy in various pursuits. Golf was a passion that brought him moments of tranquility, and he often shared this love with family and friends. An avid photographer, he captured the beauty of life through his lens, leaving behind visual treasures for generations to come. Michael's adventurous spirit led him to embrace nature and explore the world, with Kiawah Island being a second home that held a special place in his heart.

A devoted fan, Michael's sports enthusiasm was a central theme in his life. Whether cheering on the Chicago Bears, passionately supporting the Cubs, or following college basketball, his competitive spirit brought excitement to countless family gatherings.

Family was at the core of Michael’s universe.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Haley.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Jody Haley; children, Jeff (Jodi) Haley, Trevor Haley, Jared Haley, Jonathan Haley, and Whitney Haley. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Megan Haley, Seth Haley, and Luke Haley; each a testament to the love and value he instilled; also surviving is sister, Dianne Orr; and niece, Morgan Busalacchi.
