Marilyn M. Eddelman Bolen, 79, of Westfield, passed away while wintering in Bonita Springs, FL, on April 14, 2017. She was born on November 4, 1937 in Columbus, IN, daughter of the late Alfred D. Eddelman and Marguerite Anderson Eddelman.
Marilyn enjoyed an adventurous life that included bicycling, which she and Vern would often ride 30 to 40 miles in a day, camping, walking and traveling the USA. She was proud of the United States of America and believed passionately in the American Spirit. While on vacation in July and August of 2016, Marilyn rode a 25 mile bike ride with family between Jenny Lake and Jackson Hole WY. The trip started in CO, ended in WY, giving her and the family memories to cherish forever. Upon returning from vacation, Vern purchased a new electric bicycle so he could get back to riding those adventures with Marilyn. She expressed to her family that it gave her great joy in seeing Vern on his bicycle and in the lead once again. Marilyn loved to spend time with family and friends, especially with family dinners. She also enjoyed playing cards and simply visiting together.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Ella Jean Casias, Helen Stamper and brother, Alfred D. Eddelman.
Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Vernis Bolen; son, Hugh E. Nettleton Jr. (Pam) and two grandchildren, Michael D. and Amanda M. Nettleton; son, Daniel R. Nettleton; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
