Jason Andrew Wignot, 29, of Carmel, IN, passed away September 11, 2017. He was born on August 7, 1988 in Indianapolis, IN.
Jason enjoyed playing soccer, running, lifting weights and working out. He liked to spend time as a ham radio operator, using KC9WEP as his call sign. Jason was skilled in building and programming computers, with special interest in embedded systems.
At an early age, Jason was baptized in St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, IN where he also received Penance and First Communion. Later, the family moved to Carmel and joined Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Jason was confirmed In 2005. Family was very important to Jason. He appreciated working with his dad as well as playing video games with his brother and sister.
In the spring of 2007, Jason graduated from Carmel High School. In the fall of 2006 his soccer team became IHSAA State Champions. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from IUPUI School of Public Environmental Affairs. Jason was three months from his degree in computer engineering. He was a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), where he served as Vice President. Currently, Jason was serving his Software Internship with MS Sedco.
Jason was preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Howard and Hildegard Wezet of Evansville, IN and paternal grandparents; John and Ruth Wignot of Lenoir City, TN.
Survivors include his parents; Leroy and Susan Wezet Wignot; brother, Michael Wignot; sister, Heather Wignot; several aunts, uncles, cousins and girlfriend, Martha Panyard.
A visitation will take place on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 2–4 pm in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 5 p.m. in the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jason can be given to The Merciful Help Center, 1045 W. 146th Street, Carmel, IN 46032. Envelopes will be available at the service.
