Obituary of Marian Farrell
Marian P. Farrell, 89, of Zionsville, IN, passed away March 2, 2017. She was born on December 22, 1927, in Peoria, IL, to the late Robert and Lola Allton Prewett.
Marian was a 1946 graduate of Peoria High School where she won the title of Drum Majorette. She then attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL and majored in sociology. Marian was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She also was Dream Girl of Theta Chi Fraternity.
Marian was gifted in and had a passion for writing. Her writings included more than 300 poems and stories which many were published in the Indianapolis Star and Zionsville Times.
Marian worked as secretary-treasurer of J.M. Farrell Co. Contractors. She also volunteered for a number of years at the Zionsville Police Department.
In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Prewett.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 66 years, John Farrell; daughter, Renna Farrell; son, Daniel (Marie) Farrell; grandchildren, Travis N. Turner, Dennis J. Turner, Crystal L. Turner, Alana Farrell, Jessica Brown, Rebecca Wren and Mitch Hudson; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Brown, Josslin Brown, John W. Turner, Blake Wilson, Azaria R. Turner, AJ Turner, Zoey Moebs and Chloe Moebs.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10 am in Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road, Zionsville, IN 46077, where Marian was an active member. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon in the church. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Zionsville.
In memory of Marian, donations may be given to Community Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the service.
