Obituary of Robert Murray

Robert James Murray, 91, of Carmel, passed away August 10, 2017.  He was born on July 30, 1926 in Beech Grove, IN, son of Raymond and Marguerite Britton Murray.

Bob was a graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis.  With his devotion for helping people, He spent his entire career in personnel working for Wm. H. Block and then Capital Paper.  Bob was a part of the management buyout that purchased Capital Paper and was later sold to Bunzl Corp.  He retired from Bunzl.  Bob was also a veteran of the US Navy.  Bob and Marilyn Neuman were married on August 22, 1987.

Bob had many interests that included being an avid reader and a passion for the Theater and acting.  He was gifted in the ability of writing plays and skits, especially those that would make you laugh and smile.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Cammack Murray; brothers, Donald Murray and Raymond Murray and grandson, Ricky Neuman.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Williams Murray; children, Vickie Delph, Lisa (Mark) Stimley, Brenda (Rick) Konopasek, Debbie (David) Luce, Rick (Kathy) Neuman; 12 grandchildren, Chuck Delph, Rod Delph, Sarah Schmid, Michelle Schenkel, Kristen Konopasek, Curt Konopasek, Kevin Konopasek, Josh Neuman, Erin Scott, Emily Luce, Matthew Luce, Michael Luce; and 11 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, of which Bob was a charter member, 14598 Oak Ridge Road, Carmel, IN.
