Obituary of Mary Brenneman
Mary Jean Brenneman, 97 of Connersville, formerly of Marion, then Westfield, IN, passed away August 21, 2017. Mary Jean was born on December 6, 1919 in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Charles and Robert and Mary Priscilla (Ward) Connell.
Mary Jean and Laude W. Brenneman were married on June 2, 1957 and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1995.
Mary Jean worked as a Registered Nurse in the Marion General Hospital for many years retiring in 1981. Three and a half of those years were spent on the mission field in Brazil. Mary Jean loved listening to music. She especially enjoyed singing the old hymns. At 90 years of age she blessed the congregation of her church with a solo of one of her favorite hymns. She also "played the piano" and shared a fond memory of playing the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in recital at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Mary Jean touched many lives during her life’s journey and was a constant example of joyfulness and love. Her sense of humor was loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her sons; Reverend Robert (Debbie) Brenneman of Connersville, IN and George P. (Deborah) Brenneman of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Brooke, Benjamin and Jordan Brenneman and Michelle, Ryan and Derek Brenneman.
A Family Committal Service for the family will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 2:30 pm in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, 1606 West 26th Street, Marion, IN.
