Obituary of Martin Stauder
Martin “Marty” Joseph Stauder, 57, of Westfield, passed away September 1, 2017. Marty was born January 17, 1960 to Dora Marie (Garver) Stauder and Joseph Stauder in Decatur, IL. Marty was a graduate of St. Teresa High School in Decatur, IL and Northern Illinois University where he majored in food science. Along with his love of cooking, Marty was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan, and loved spending Saturdays in the fall cheering on the Notre Dame and Indiana University football teams. Marty was one of eight children and loved spending time with his siblings. However, nothing compared to the love Marty had for his sons Michael and Matthew, and his wife Karla, the love of his life for more than 40 years.
In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by his brother, John Stauder and great-niece, Josephine LaFata.
He is survived by his loving wife Karla Stauder of Westfield, IN; sons, Michael Stauder of Chicago, IL and Matthew Stauder of Westfield, IN; brother, Mike (Ruth) Stauder of Villa Grove, IL; sisters, Claire (John) Emrick of Lancaster, PA, Connie (Mike) Fogarty of Dalton City, IL, Julie (Shannon) Duffy of Florissant, MO, Liz Schultz of Decatur, IL, and Nancy (Gary) Blair of Cleveland, TN; 21 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and nephews; in-laws, Jane and Jerry MacMurdo (Springfield, IL), Brenda and Dwight Farber (Bloomington, IL), Rhonda and Mike Ganley (Decatur, IL), Edward MacMurdo and Jeff Curry (Petersburg, IL).
