Obituary of Ermina Kaiser
Ermina Hinshaw Kaiser, 98, of Carmel, passed away September 19, 2017. She was born June 28, 1919 in Carmel, IN, daughter of Jett and Freda (Brown) Hinshaw. Ermina was a 1937 graduate of Carmel High School. Following graduation from the Felt-Tarrant Business College in Indianapolis, she began working in the offices of Van Camp Hardware & Iron and Kingan Company in Indianapolis. Later she worked in the offices of Kaiser Real Estate, Inc.
On August 31, 1941, Ermina and Harold were married and made Carmel their home. Over the years they traveled extensively and after retirement, spent winters in Florida. Ermina and Harold celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on August 31, 2016.
The Kaisers were lifelong members of Carmel Friends Church where they were both very active. Ermina taught Sunday school for many years, was a member of the Bible Study Group, as well as was very active on many church committees. Also, Ermina was a member of the Carmel Progressive Arts Club.
In addition to her parents, Ermina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Kaiser in November, 2016; and sister, Aroma Hinshaw Cobb.
Survivors include son, Craig (Sharyn) Kaiser; grandson, Chad (Nancy) Kaiser; granddaughters, Amanda McNutt (Jeffrey) Edwards and Allyson McNutt and brother, Franklin (Ruth) Hinshaw.
A Committal Service will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 in Carmel Cemetery. Following the Committal Service, Craig, Sharyn and their family will be availabe to greet family and friends.
