I did not know Lisa but I know she raised a beautiful daughter. I was lucky enough to have Lindsay register for one of my courses her freshmen year at VU. As a professor of dance, I view it as my job to teach beyond the vocabulary and steps and rhythms, to the true, full body expression of life's myriad of emotions. Only those with a dedicated mindset, joy in their hearts and a strong sense of self are able to fully succeed in my courses, and Lindsay was one of them. Following this first semester, I chose Lindsay to perform in my piece for VU's Dance Ensemble because in her I saw, and continue to see, the expression of a person with a pure and open heart. This is also why I trust her to care for my own daughter. Lindsay is a person of integrity who embraces the kind of vulnerability that has the power to change the world in the most positive ways. She must have had quite a role model at home growing up. I did not know Lisa but I know she raised an incredible human being and that's an invaluable legacy. My heart goes out to all who were lucky enough to have had her in their lives.
